The Fort is a sight-specific Art installation planted in the center of the quad in the Occidental College Campus. It acts as an enchanting lens onto that world through the layered, blue, knit cover and its organic spherical shape. The frame is built out of arundo grass, an invasive species, abundant in the L.A. River. The knit skin is made using an industrial knitting machine. I aimed to create a womb-like environment which feeds ones imagination and nurtures ones sense of security.
